About Kunjip Tofu
Newly opened restaurant in Mountain View, California serving elevated authentic Korean food and soup with high quality ingredients.
Located at 1962 El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, Kunjip Tofu operates as a korean restaurant serving Mountain View in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Mountain View, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 amโ2 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. This place has such an incredible reputation and the food really is solid, but I think you can find better for cheaper elsewhere in the Bay. The tofu soup is packed with flavor and umami. We ordered the snow crab tofu soup and it was filled with tender seafood. The kalbi jjim wasn't great though. The sauce had too much of a mole-like taste and texture to it. I much prefer the kalbi jjim at Daeho. The bonchon dishes are where this restaurant really stands out. I think they may be the best in the Bay. You get a huge variety and each is beautifully and deliciously prepared. They also do a wonderful job of constantly replenishing dishes that you finish. Speaking of which, the service here is phenomenal. The setting is also upscale and super classy.

Absolutely love this placeโit's one of the best Korean restaurants in the Bay Area! The complimentary side dishes are always impressive, and the best part is that you can get free refills. We've tried a variety of appetizers and main dishes, and every single one has been delicious. We honestly haven't had a bad dish here. The food is consistently flavorful, the quality is excellent, and we always leave looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit to Kunjip Tofu. Overall, the food was solid and enjoyable, but it didnโt quite leave a lasting impression that would make me eager to return right away. I ordered the Mixed Tofu Soup, which came with both Wagyu beef and seafood. The seafood portion was quite generous, and the broth was the highlight of the meal. Compared to most Korean tofu soup restaurants, the soup here was noticeably richer and more flavorful, which I really appreciated. We also tried the Yukhoe Bibimbap (raw beef bibimbap). It was decent, but overall felt fairly average and didnโt stand out compared to similar dishes I've had elsewhere. One thing I did enjoy was the variety of Korean side dishes. The staff were attentive and proactively offered refills, which added to the overall dining experience. ๐ฏ My overall take: - Wait Time: If the wait is consistently close to an hour, I personally wouldnโt go out of my way to stand in line. - Price Point: This is more of an upscale Korean restaurant rather than a casual budget-friendly spot. - Would I Recommend It? Yes, for special occasions such as birthdays or celebrations. For a casual meal with friends or family, however, there may be other o

One of the best modern Korean restaurant in town. We reserved couples days earlier. It was busy when we arrived. The interior is modern looks and doesn't assembled a korean restaurant. The menu is pretty comprehensive with option from tang, bimbimbap, grilled, tofu soup, and appetizer. Each person have to order one. The order come with individual tray for each one with set of banchan. The banchan is refillable except the abalone if I am not mistaken. This is the first time I have abalone as part of banchan. We ordered seafood pancake, kunjip tofu, octopus bimbimbap, seafood tofu soup, grilled markarel, and spicy pork bulgogi. The foods were yummy. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and it was yummy dinner with good service.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, my partner and I headed over to Kunjip. There was around an hour wait at 12:00 so we joined the waitlist(which was virtually closed), then headed over to Robu next door for matcha. Eventually it was our turn and we went in. We got the Galbi as well as the Bulgogi Bibimbap. Everything here was fantastic. The banchan was super fresh and they have a guy wheeling around a cart with refills of everything youโd need. The entrees themselves were super delicious as well. The galbi was nice and tender with good flavor and the side of ssamjang was fantastic. The bibimbap had a good amount of crispy rice and a nice flavor. Finally, the service was nice. At times it was a little hard to hunt down our server, but he was super helpful and friendly. I definitely will come back.
